177 WND innovative enterprises to receive more support

A total of 177 enterprises based in Wuxi National Hi-tech District are expected to be included in the first batch of "young eagle enterprises", "gazelle enterprises", and "quasi-unicorn enterprises" to be cultivated in Wuxi in 2021, according to a report recently released by the Wuxi science and technology bureau.

Among them, 108 enterprises will be named as "young eagle enterprises", 61 enterprises will be designated "gazelle enterprises", and eight enterprises will be recognized as "quasi-unicorn enterprises". The number of WND enterprises of these three categorizations accounted for over 30 percent of the city's total.

According to the bureau, these companies in WND were all considered highly innovative with good development prospects, and some of them have already reached a certain success level.

WND has been working on the plan for developing innovative enterprises exponentially since 2018, aiming to promote the cultivation and service of innovative enterprises. Both the number and quality of innovative enterprises in WND have achieved a substantial increase.

The WND government has encouraged enterprises to take the initiative to apply to be recognized as one of these three kinds of enterprises. The number of listed enterprises will be taken as an auxiliary indicator directly incorporated into the enterprise innovation point management evaluation index system.
