The Wuxi National Hi-tech District in Jiangsu province was invited to take part in the first session of the 2021 Great Wall Engineering Science and Technology Conference in Beijing on June 17-18.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Tsinghua University, the conference discussed key technical issues related to peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality, and provided important decision-making references for the government.
The conference revolved around six topics related to key technical issues and key directions in carbon neutrality.
As the only national high-tech district invited to the event, WND has not only made outstanding achievements in low energy consumption and emissions, but also developed an industrial cluster for environment protection led by Little Swan Co and Wuxi Huaguang Environment and Energy Group Co.
Cui Rongguo, director of WND, shared the ideas and approaches in the district to promoting ecofreindly high-quality development at the event. The idea of ecofriendly development has been taken into consideration in the district's economy, innovation, industrial chains, production methods, spatial structure, and life philosophy, according to Cui.
