The Wuxi National Hi-tech District signed a deal with United States chip giant Qualcomm Inc on May 27, aiming to strengthen cooperation in integrated circuits and 5G.
The two sides will work together to develop 5G applications for the internet of vehicles, smart medical care, smart first aid, and more.
In addition, the second phase of the Qualcomm-RF 360 project started construction on May 28.
Receiving more than 2 billion yuan ($313.95 million) in ivnestment, the project is expected to further expand the production scale and technical capabilities of RF 360 Technology (Wuxi) Co.
According to Meng Pu, chairman of Qualcomm China, 5G technology has played a key role in epidemic prevention and control efforts in China and has enhanced the resilience of the Chinese economy, as it is seeing a strong recovery.
Meng said he is optimistic about the future development of the 5G industry in WND and will continue to expand 5G tech cooperation with WND in a more open and inclusive business environment in China in the new era of "dual circulation".
