A live-streaming promotion event was held on May 15 to draw overseas talents in the UK to the Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND).
Wuxi and the WND were presented to outstanding personnel in the UK, attracting them to come to start up their businesses or to work.
Located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta, the WND was built as one of the first national-level high-tech zones and has become a new window for China's opening-up. It is home to 130 Fortune Global 500 companies, 1,600 foreign-funded companies, more than 10,000 foreigners, and over 6,000 overseas talents.
Emerging as a new modern industry highland, the WND takes pride in its major industry clusters with respective focuses on the Internet of Things and high-end equipment manufacturing -- both sectors exceeding 100 billion yuan ($15.54 billion) in output value. There are also multiple industry clusters with output value of more than 10 billion yuan that prioritize businesses such as life medicine, new energy, new materials, and modern service. Industry structure and layout are being improved more quickly to realize the planned "6+2+X" modern industrial system.
Innovation is booming in the WND -- start-up and innovative business is prospering thanks to the WND's superior location just where the Southern Jiangsu National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone overlaps with the Taihu Bay Sci-tech Innovation Belt.
