Hydrogen-powered buses start operation in Xinwu

The launch ceremony of hydrogen fuel cell-powered buses was held in Shuofang sub-district, Xinwu district, Wuxi on April 20. Also launched was a hydrogen refueling station. The launches marked the beginning of a new zero-carbon green hydrogen demonstration zone in Xinwu.

The hydrogen refueling station project, with a land area of 4,202 square meters and a building area of 246.04 square meters, is the first-of-its-kind in the city.

Put into service were five 12-meter-long fourth-generation hydrogen fuel cell-powered buses newly developed by Zhongtong Bus Holding Co Ltd. It takes only 15 minutes for the bus to finish hydrogenation refueling and the cruising range can reach more than 500 kilometers.

In the next stage, Xinwu will accelerate the promotion of hydrogen fuel cell buses in order to provide safer, more environmentally friendly, and more considerate public transportation services.
