Agreements for 40 projects involving scientific and technological innovation were signed online in the Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND) on April 20.

The 40 projects mainly involve leading talent and innovation platforms, biomedicine, integrated circuit design, internet of things applications, high-end software and cutting-edge technology, and financial technology.

Wuxi Qikang Aerospace Technology Co will invest 250 million yuan ($38.55 million) into the research, development, and production of high-performance carbon fiber composite products, which can be applied to both the aerospace and new energy industries.

The 24-quare-kilometer Taihu Bay Science and Technology City in WND is now home to over 3,000 science and technology enterprises, including 350 high-tech ones, accounting for 40 percent of all science and technology enterprises in the district. Over 3,000 high-end talents are currently working there.

WND has released a working plan and a series of measures to attract high-end science and technology projects, enterprises, and talents. Officials said that by 2023, the Taihu Bay Science and Technology City of WND is expected to be home to 1,000 national high-tech enterprises, 54 engineering technology research centers, and 26 technology entrepreneurship carriers at or above the provincial level.
