The Wu Culture Development Conference was held on April 8 in Meili Ancient Town in Wuxi National Hi-tech district (WND), East China's Jiangsu province. The conference is aimed at promoting local high-quality development as well as Wu culture.

As the capital of the Wu Kingdom in the Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-256 BC), Meili has a history of more than 3,200 years and was established by Taibo, the architect of Wu culture.

A series of events, including a cultural forum, a memorial ceremony, and an economic development forum, will be hosted to boost information exchange and industrial interactions as well as deepen cooperation among the domestic cultural tourism and economic industries.

Wu Guoping, chairman of Wuxi Lingshan Cultural Tourism Group, said that the conference marks the beginning of construction on a new tourist resort integrating culture, technology and entertainment.

The conference is also seen as a turning point in rejuvenating local development, as well as a platform for interprovincial cultural and economic interaction and cooperation in the post-pandemic period.
