WND develops new growth point on foreign trade

The total imports and exports of inspection and maintenance goods in Wuxi National Hi-tech District Free Trade Zone exceeded $45 million in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 49.8 percent, according to official data.

Global maintenance is an important way to promote the development of global services for foreign trade enterprises. It can help improve the after-sales service system of enterprises and promote their market competitiveness.

According to an inspection technology company based in the Wuxi National Hi-tech District Free Trade Zone, their orders  increased sharply despite the COVID-19 epidemic.

Fang Yue, general manager of the company, said that they have taken up about 40 percent of the global maintenance services of Seagate, the world's largest disk manufacturer.

Xue Yao from Wuxi Customs said that global maintenance has become a new growth point for foreign trade.

Xue said that Wuxi National Hi-tech District Free Trade Zone is now home to 10 enterprises working on the inspection and maintenance of spare parts in the electronic products and integrated circuit industry, including five companies providing semiconductor equipment testing and maintenance services.
