The Wuxi National Hi-tech District will spend 38 billion yuan ($5.86 billion) on an integrated circuit (IC) equipment and materials industrial park, according to a development plan released on March 2.
The industrial park will be developed out of the Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park, the Wuxi Lead IC Equipment Material Industrial Park, and the Xingang IC Equipment Industrial Park and will cover an area of 80 hectares.
A total of 200 industrial innovation teams will be brought into the park to carry out 300 major industrial projects, and it will be developed into a large-scale modern industrial community integrating R&D, manufacturing, and industrial services. It is expected to have an annual industrial revenue of 80 billion yuan.
According to the plan, the Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park will be made up of three different parts. The 10-hectare A-section will begin construction in August and finish by December 2023. The 6-hectare B-section will include high-standard production plants, which will begin operating in June. The 6.7-hectare C-section will introduce key enterprises such as SK Hynix, Huahong Group, and China Resources Microelectronics Ltd.
In addition, the Wuxi Lead IC Equipment Material Industrial Park will be built in three phases within five to eight years. It will feature new customized and differentiated equipment, parts, and materials.
The Xingang IC Equipment Industrial Park will bring in leading IC equipment companies, especially those working in IC packaging and testing equipment, gallium nitride materials and production equipment, atomic layer deposition equipment, laser-cutting repair, and IC core component equipment.
