WND introduces new biomedical project

Jiangsu EyeCure Biomedical Technology Co Ltd signed an agreement to build its biomedical testing public service platform and production center in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND) on Feb 1.

With a total investment of 1.35 billion yuan ($207.4 million), the company will build its industrialization base of new ophthalmic cell drugs in Wangzhuang subdistrict within three years. The project's annual output value is expected to exceed 20 billion yuan.

The project aims to provide cell and genetic drug testing services to biomedical firms in the area, as well as enhance EyeCure's R&D and production capabilities of new ophthalmic cell drugs, according to the company.

WND Party Secretary Jiang Min attended the signing ceremony and urged all government departments in the district to provide high-quality services to promote the establishment of the project.

Fan Guoping, chairman of the company, expressed gratitude for the support from WND since the company's establishment in 2015. The project is expected to help bolster the biomedical industry development ecosystem in the district.

Fan added that the company will continue to attract talents and high-quality resources to drive the development of the biomedical industry in WND.
