56 enterprises to lead industrial development in Wuxi

Wuxi has named 56 enterprises involved in 16 key industrial clusters of advanced manufacturing industries as "leading enterprises", local media reported on Jan 11.

Among the 56 leading enterprises, five firms work on internet of things and four work on integrated circuits. Well-known enterprises were also included, such as Envision Group, Longshine Technology Group Co, SK Hynix, China Resources Microelectronics Ltd, Heilan Goup, Hodo Group, and AstraZeneca.

The 16 key industrial clusters of advanced manufacturing industries represent the future development power of local industry, while these leading enterprises focus more on the new generation of information technology and high-end manufacturing, according to the local industry and information technology bureau.

Analysts said that what these leading enterprises need is not favorable policies and financial support, but opportunities to cooperate with national technologies and international projects.

In 2020, the government of Wuxi National Hi-tech District has made efforts to promote the construction of the Wuxi Lead Integrated Circuit Equipment Material Industrial Park.

With an investment of 18 billion yuan ($2.8 billion), the industrial park will work on key products and technologies on core equipment, parts, and materials of IC. The WND government took the initiative to visit Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co to promote project landing. To date, nine equipment material enterprises have been introduced to the park.

Local officials said that during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) period, Wuxi will work to develop more leading enterprises in emerging industries, advanced manufacturing, and modern service industries, encouraging them to cooperate on industrial development.
