WND worker honored as national model

Yuan Caifeng, a director of Denso Corp, was honored as a model worker at a gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Nov 24, local media reported.

Yuan has been working in Wuxi National Hi-tech District (WND) for 16 years. She is eager to learn skills and gain knowledge in management and innovation. During her work, she created various measures for self-checking, which reduced the company's costs by millions of yuan.

"I will advance with the times and study all my life to be a new-age industrial worker with knowledge, skills and innovation capability," Yuan said.

WND Party Secretary Jiang Min met Yuan on the afternoon of Nov 25 and expressed her congratulations.

Jiang urged government departments to take care of workers in WND and called on people to learn from Yuan's strong thirst for knowledge and her drive to improve herself.

China honors such exemplary workers once every five years for their hard work, extraordinary achievements, and outstanding contributions to their respective fields.

Officials at the gathering, which honored 1,689 people as national role model workers and 804 as exemplary individuals this year, called for efforts to promote and encourage the spirit of model workers, the value of work, and the pursuit of fine workmanship.
