New aviation project signed in WND

Wuxi Hongpeng Aviation Power signed a deal worth 1 billion yuan ($146 million) with Wuxi National Hi-tech District on Sept 1.

According to the deal, Wuxi Hongpeng Aviation Power will build a light general aviation engine development base in Shuofang sub-district, where the Sunan Shuofang International Airport is located.

Relying on its leading aerodynamic design, production, testing, repair, debugging and installation capabilities, Wuxi Hongpeng Aviation Power, together with investors such as Jiangsu Shentong Valve Co, will develop turboprop and turboshaft engines with a power level of 500 to 5,000 horsepower.

The products built in the industrial base are expected to meet the power needs of all light general-oriented platforms.

Representatives from the project said they will strive to build a high-quality supply chain and complete industrial chain for the development of domestic small-scale aviation in order to better meet the needs of the domestic aviation power market.
