A group of expats working and living in Xinwu district was invited to a traditional Chinese cultural experience at Hongshan Site Museum recently.

Masters of six local cultural heritages displayed and explained their works for the visitors, including female script, Wuxi zhima (woodprint joss paper), inner painting, wheat straw patchwork, paper cutting and Huishan clay figurines.

The expats were allowed to experience these Chinese cultural events. Some of them tried on hanfu, the traditional clothing of the Han ethnic group, others made paper-cut works and clay figurines by themselves under the guidance of masters. They enjoyed learning more about traditional Chinese culture.

"I'm interested in Chinese history and culture. I'm glad I could take part in the event," said John Roumeliotis, CEO and founder of Jiangsu Dragon Guest Information Technology Co.

Organizers said the event is expected to be a platform for culture exchanges and communication and promoting Chinese culture to expats in Xinwu district.
