Wuxi stresses quality development for enterprises

Three enterprises in Wuxi National Hi-tech District stood out at the 2019 Wuxi Mayor Quality Award on July 10.

The companies were Infineon Technologies AG, Wuxi Weifu High Tech Group, and Wuxi Huaguang Boiler Co.

Established in 2006, the Wuxi Mayor Quality Award is the highest honor given by the Wuxi Municipal People's Government to leading enterprises and organizations with advanced quality management methods.

Wuxi has been working to help enterprises improve the quality of their products and company management since last year, aiming to make breakthroughs in development models and optimizing the economic structure, according to Wuxi Mayor Du Xiaogang.

Du congratulated the awarded enterprises and urged more enterprises to focus on improving quality.

During the award ceremony, a comprehensive and professional quality brand research institution named Jiangnan University Quality Brand Institute was co-established by the Wuxi government and Jiangnan University.

Officials said the institute will work to introduce more national resources and platforms to Wuxi, build high-level scientific research institutes, accelerate the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and introduce more international advanced quality management models to local enterprises.

The newly-launched institute will also lead integrated R&D and development in the Yangtze River Delta region by building a public platform, formulating common strategies for quality development, launching action plans and research reports, and putting forward guidelines on related policies.
