A signing ceremony for 16 key projects was held in Meicun sub-district, Xinwu district, Wuxi on June 29.
With total investment exceeding 7.8 billion yuan ($1.1 billion), the 16 projects focus on various technological innovation industries including new materials, new technologies, intelligent manufacturing and equipment manufacturing.
Unmanned mining vehicle producer Beijing Tage Idriver Technology Co will spend 300 million yuan on the R&D of an unmanned mine transportation system integrating internet of vehicles communication and vehicle-mounted intelligent terminals.
Jabil Green Point Technology (Wuxi) Co, working as an iPhone supplier in China, will invest about 300 million yuan to build a production base for camera modules.
After reaching their intended capacity, the 16 projects will increase annual output by 14.8 billion yuan and tax contributions by nearly 900 million yuan, which will support high-quality economic development in Meicun and pave the way for industrial transformation.
