Students in their first two years of junior high and senior high school as well as those studying at secondary vocational schools in Wuxi's Xinwu district returned to school on April 7, after classrooms closed for the spring semester due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.
To make sure everything goes smoothly, teachers and staff have implemented a number of measures, including taking temperatures, regularly disinfecting school facilities, and requiring everyone to wear a mask.
Schools have also changed their student dining practices, as many parents have shown concern about how their children can eat safely.
The Linghu Branch of Wuxi Big Bridge Academy built handbasins in the garden near classrooms and will ask students to wash their hands frequently and develop good hygiene habits.
Wuxi Meili Middle School is requiring several classes to dine in their classrooms while others go to the cafeteria, where tables have been equipped with partitions.
Schools in Wuxi will continue to take strict preventive measures to ensure the safety of students and no secondary outbreaks of COVID-19 among them as schools begin to reopen.
