Xinwu district to build new TCM hospital

Construction started on Wuxi Xinwu District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Second Community Health Service Center of Jiangxi sub-district on April 8.

With a total investment of 320 million yuan ($45.26 million), the new hospital will cover 18,000 square meters and have a construction area of 45,000 square meters.

The hospital, located west of Jichang Road and north of Suxiang Road, will be built in accordance with second-class standards and is expected to be put into operation in November, 2021.

The new hospital is an appendage of the Wuxi Nanzhan Hospital, which was built in 1958. After being put into operation, it will serve over 100,000 people living in Jiangxi sub-district, Wuxi's Xinwu district and will use traditional Chinese medicine treatments.

The hospital will consist of a general department in addition to departments of internal medicine of traditional Chinese medicine, surgery of traditional Chinese medicine, gynecology and obstetrics, nephrology, dermatology of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, Chinese massage, rehabilitation of traditional Chinese medicine and clinical medical technology.

Xinwu district has been working to improve health services for residents in recent years. Xinrui Hospital, SK Hynix Hospital and Kaiyi Hospital are currently being developed with government support.
