Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co signed an agreement to build an integrated circuit equipment and material industrial park in Wuxi National Hi-tech District on Feb 21.

With a total investment of 15 billion yuan ($2.14 billion), it is the first specialized industrial park focusing on compound semiconductor equipment and core materials in China and is designed to promote the development of integrated circuits in Wuxi and around China.

The industrial park will be built in three stages to develop new materials, new technologies, new equipment, new processes, and new models for the integrated circuit industry and help fill a void in the industrial chain.

During the signing ceremony, Wuxi Wuyue Semiconductor Co also agreed to develop a GaN substrate and chip manufacturing project valued at 3.7 billion yuan in the new industrial park.

Established in 1999, Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co is the largest manufacturer of lithium battery intelligent equipment in the world. The company’s production capacity has returned to over 80 percent of regular capacity as the daily number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus continues to decline.
