Wuxi is accelerating the application of scientific and technological research to help in the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
A temperature measurement and analysis system using artificial intelligence and infrared thermal imaging was installed at the entrance of the Xin'an Smart Agricultural Products Market in Wuxi's Xinwu district on Feb 16.
The system can detect fevers within a certain distance and show real-time results on an external screen. It will broadcast a warning when it detects someone running a fever.
Xu Yong, head of the Xin'an Smart Agricultural Products Market, said the application of latest technologies has helped the market become more confident in fighting the epidemic, as it not only greatly improves detection efficiency, but also minimizes the risk of cross infection caused by congestion at the market entrance.
The system, valued at 70,000 yuan ($10,006), was donated by Shen Weidong, president of Jiangsu Wuyi Electronic Technology Co. Xu Shou'an, general manager of Wuxi Shouwang Technology Co, donated the external screen to show the results.
