A group of 30 "smart publicists" started to inform local residents of the latest coronavirus information and disseminate epidemic prevention and control advice on Feb 3 in Hongshan, a residential community in Wuxi's Xinwu district.
These 30 "smart publicists" are actually smart speakers, which were donated by enterprises in Hongshan. This is the first community-level smart publicity system in the district to use internet of things (IoT) technology.
Hongshan's smart speakers are wireless digital products with a 4G/5G China Telecom network as a core technology, combined with a cloud service platform, large data capacity, and IoT devices such as LED screens.
After the installation, an intelligent terminal inputs the recorded anti-epidemic audios, and the 30 smart speakers can play it simultaneously.
"In order to increase the publicity on the prevention and control of the epidemic, we have installed these smart speakers in communities, markets and on main roads. After the smart speaker is put into use, it will work with 60 ground mobile 'small speakers' to publicize epidemic prevention knowledge for residents and villagers every day, deepen residents' and villagers' understanding of the epidemic, and greatly relieve our concerns." said a person in charge of the residential community.
