AstraZeneca, a global biopharmaceutical giant, signed a deal with the Wuxi National Hi-Tech District to build its international market headquarters in the district on Dec 30.
WND Party Secretary Wang Jinjian attended the signing ceremony and reviewed the cooperation and achievements AstraZeneca and WND have made over the past year.
The British-Swedish pharmaceutical multinational has been operating in the Wuxi market for 26 years and signed an agreement with the Wuxi National Hi-Tech District in March in an attempt to attract top overseas medical enterprises and research institutions in order to propel the development of Wuxi's intelligent medical industry.

The park was then launched in September during the ongoing 2019 World Internet of Things Expo, marking another attempt by AstraZeneca to build an incubation platform for early research and development, the industrialization of research achievements, the display of intelligent products, and professional services in the life science sector.
Early in 2017, AstraZeneca launched the Healthcare IoT Innovation Center in Wuxi, which aims to explore the use of new technology to create holistic disease management solutions for patients that involve prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
WND has become an important development center for AstraZeneca. In 2018, AstraZeneca became the company paying the most taxes in Wuxi.
