South Korean semiconductor material maker SKC Solmics agreed to carry out its semiconductor equipment recycling manufacturing project in the Wuxi National Hi-tech District on Dec 10.
SKC Solmics will invest $300 million into the project’s first phase, aiming to meet increasing orders from China. The first phase of the project will start construction in April 2020 and is expected to begin operating at the end of next year.
WND Party Secretary Wang Jinjian attended the signing ceremony and said the project is meant to help develop a semiconductor industrial chain in the district and deepen cooperation between WND and SK group.
Wang urged all government departments to offer their full support for the project and was optimistic about its success.
Representative from SKC Solmics said the company also plans to carry out more projects in WND due to its good business environment and high-quality industrial chains.
SKC Solmics, a subsidiary of SK Group, is the largest integrated film producer in South Korea. The company’s total sales exceeded $2.5 billion worldwide in 2018.
