Japanese steelmaker to increase investment in WND

A delegation from Japan's third-largest steelmaker, Kobe Steel, visited Wuxi National Hi-tech District Dec 9.

WND Party Secretary Wang Jinjian welcomed the delegation led by Takao Ohama, vice-president of Kobe Steel. The company planned to increase investment in WND to develop research and development (R&D) and add production of compressors.

The two sides discussed plans to strengthen cooperation.

Wang urged all government departments to offer their full support to the project and was optimistic about its success.

Takao Ohama briefed Wang about his company and said it will introduce high-level technologies and more production orders to its Wuxi branch.

Founded in 1905, Kobe Steel has 267 subsidiaries and management companies employing over 38,000 workers around the world.
