The new intelligent building will use 5G technologies in research and development (R&D), manufacturing and supply chain management. The 10,000-square-meter building will be developed in three phases, with the first phase expected to be put into operation by the third quarter of 2020.
Gerald Creadon, vice-chairman of global operations for Jabil, said at the ceremony that the company values its Wuxi branch and is bullish about its development.
WND's governor, Hong Yanwei, said that the new Jabil Intelligent Building is expected to be a pilot intelligent manufacturing base in WND. The district will provide full support to its development.
Jabil Group, one of the world's biggest electronics manufacturing service providers, built its Wuxi facility in 2004. It offers manufacturing services to customers in the computing and storage, networking, telecommunications and mobility industries.
After years of development, its Wuxi operation has become Jabil's largest 5G intelligent manufacturing base, with the most complete product line in the world.
