A total of 52 project deals worth 23.3 billion yuan ($3.32 billion) were signed in Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) on Nov 26.

The 52 projects involve not only the pillar industries of WND, such as integrated circuits, internet of things, cloud computing, biomedicine, new energy, and new material manufacturing, but also emerging industries such as 5G technology and artificial intelligence.

Eight of the projects received more than 1 billion yuan in investment, including a new vaccine research and development project being carried out by Royal (Wuxi) Bio-pharmaceutical Co and a project involving the construction of an aviation engine blade manufacturing center being carried out by Wuxi Hya Technology Co.

After all 52 projects are completed, Xinwu district is expected to see its annual output increase to 31.5 billion yuan.

The Wuxi National Hi-tech District Economic & Trade Festival (Autumn Edition) started in October, and 85 project deals worth 68.9 billion yuan have been signed so far, including 29 overseas projects.
