The opening ceremony for Canadian auto-part producer Linamar's new factory in the Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) was held in the district on Oct 31.
Wuxi Mayor Huang Qin attended the ceremony and congratulated the district on attracting the company. Huang gave Linamar's new factory the title of "Regional Headquarters", which was approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce.
Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of Linamar, was pleased to see the new factory working on power systems in Wuxi. She expressed satisfaction at the company's long-term cooperation with Wuxi and said that Linamar has built three factories, its Asian headquarters, and an R&D center in the WND, and that Wuxi has become an important Asian base for the company.

WND Director Feng Xiaochun noted in his speech that Linamar and the WND have been cooperating since Linamar first invested in the WND in 2005. He said that the government will continue to support the company's new factory.
Linamar has been developing its high-end manufacturing operations in Wuxi for many years. In 2018, Linamar (China) Investment Co was established in the WND, helping the company build a complete Asian industrial chain including production, R&D, sales, and investment.
