The Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park is operated by Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd, a joint venture between Wuxi National Hi-tech District Economy Development Corporation and Singapore SembCorp Industries at the end of 1993. In May 2002, the two parties adjusted the ratio of the shares they held in the joint venture, with Wuxi New District Economy Development Corporation accounting for 51 percent and SembCorp Industries 49 percent. The registered capital of the joint venture is $86 million, with a total investment of $258 million.
Among the 25 famous high-tech industrial parks in Asia-Pacific, the industrial park has been listed as No 1 for three years in a row by British Journal of Enterprise Evaluation in terms of comprehensive investment environment. Many senior Chinese Party and central government leaders, such as former premier Wen Jiabao, Li Changchun, Wu Yi, Li Lanqing and others all spoke highly of the industrial park during their visits to the park.
