20 Wuxi private enterprises enter national top 500

A list of the top 500 private enterprises in the country was released at the 2018 China Top 500 Private Enterprises Summit, held in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, from Aug 29 to 31.

Sponsored by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Liaoning Provincial People's Government, the event included several forums during the opening day on areas such as financial services, poverty relief, environmental protection, and pollution prevention.

The minimum operation income for enterprises to enter the list was 15.68 billion yuan ($2.27 billion), increased by 363.2 million yuan from the previous year.

The total exports of the top 500 private enterprises were $125.2 billion, accounting for 5.51 percent of China's total exports.

Huawei Investment and Holding, Suning Holdings Group, and Amer International Group were the three top-ranked companies.

A total of 20 local private enterprises in Wuxi were included in the list, ranking first in Jiangsu province.

Apparel manufacturer Heilan Group, the first Wuxi-based company to earn over 100 billion yuan ($15.8 billion) in 2017, ranked 34th. The rankings of two other textile enterprises, Hodo Group and Jiangsu Sunshine Group, were 94th and 193th.

Chemical enterprise Chengxing Group took the 73th position, the highest in its field in Jiangsu. Private enterprises also performed well in the fields of machinery and metallurgy.
