Some 41 internet projects will compete on Aug 17 in the final of the 6th Jiangsu Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Competition on Internet industry in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.
The projects have been selected from over 1,000 participants from across the province.
Winners in the final competition will participate in the 7th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on behalf of Jiangsu province.
The Jiangsu competition covers six different fields, including internet, new energy, energy conservation and environmental protection, electronic information, biological medicine, advanced manufacturing, and new materials.
The competition, which usually kicks off in May, sees the regional, overseas and industry sections taking place before the final competition. It is being held with the aim of promoting technological innovation in Jiangsu and the cultivation of high-tech companies and highly-skilled professionals.
Since its launch in 2013, more than 20,000 entrepreneurship teams and enterprises at home and abroad have signed up and 217 projects have won awards.
Statistics shows that Jiangsu province boasts overall the most competitors and winners at the China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and it has taken third place in the competition for two consecutive years.
A total of 2.6 billion yuan ($377.5 million) has been provided by the Jiangsu Science and Technology Department and venture investment institutions and 11 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) has been awarded to the province's competitors by Jiangsu Bank over the past six years.
