Wuxi Party construction helps foreign firms thrive

"Party members in the company play an exemplary role. Activities organized by the labor union energize staff, demonstrate our corporate culture and brand, and promote continual development," Jorge Ballester Munoz, domestic president of Premo Electronic Wuxi, a Spanish-owned manufacturer based in Xinwu district.

In addition to Premo Electronic Wuxi, Xinwu district hosts 1,148 foreign enterprises and is home to more than 5,000 Party members.

Cooperation between the Party and foreign firms in the promotion of the district's development is a major issue facing district Party committees.

To better accommodate both segments of the district's population, a political lifestyle hall for Party members in foreign enterprises, the first of its kind in Wuxi city, opened in October 2017.

Located on the 12th floor of Minsheng Mansion, the hall covers 900 square meters and is divided into different zones, including a demonstration zone and a multifunction zone.

The hall hosts various activities, ranging from a book club to badminton tournaments, and Party lectures to the needs of those Party members.

The hall also functions as a service center for all people in foreign enterprises and an activity center for disabled workers from foreign enterprises.
