The No. 1 Qiansheng-1 satellite, the main carrier of the Smart Dragon-1 (SD-1) Y1 of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on Aug 17, 2019. The satellite successfully entered into the scheduled orbit after flying through the powered phase.

As one of the achievements of the project of the core area of Zhongguancun Science Park to develop industries with high technical level and fast growth rate and to promote original scientific and technological innovation, the No.1 Qiansheng-1 satellite was named "Haichuang Qiansheng" by the Haidian District Government. It was completed in 14 months, weighs 65 kilograms, and has obtained more than 30 independent intellectual property rights and completed more than 10 technological innovations and projects.

It is the largest satellite independently researched and developed by a private satellite startup in China, and the first operational satellite with both remote sensing and earth exploration functions. The launching of the satellite was the first step taken by Beijing Qiansheng Exploration Technology Company to promote its "remote sensing +" (remote sensing + communication + navigation) spatial information fusion and application system.

In the next four years, the company plans to launch 24 satellites, as well as construct and deploy four ground stations around the world to provide hourly spatial information service at any location globally. The achievement will complement China's in-orbit space infrastructure capabilities and supporting spatial information applications in the fields of national defense, emergencies, and management of land, agriculture, forestry, and urban issues.

Founded in 2017, Beijing Qiansheng Exploration Technology Company is registered in Zhongguancun Science Park. It is an innovative commercial aerospace company covering many industrial chain links such as commercial microsatellite research and development, satellite measurement and control, constellation operation and satellite data application.

Driven by the market, the company will reduce the cost of satellite data application and improve the efficiency of data application through the two satellite constellations of "Qiansheng-1" and "Qiansheng-2", which it independently constructed and operates, providing users with high quality, convenient and fast data application service.
