The "AI Empowering New Developments in the Audiovisual Industry Forum" at the 2025 Beijing International Audiovisual Conference was recently held in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town).

The event attracted experts and representatives from government, business, academia, and research sectors to discuss the transformations brought by artificial intelligence in the audiovisual industry.

Beijing is not only one of the cities in China with the richest AI innovation resources but also a hub for audiovisual technology. To further support the in-depth application of AI in the broadcasting and audiovisual field, the conference unveiled the Beijing Action Plan for Promoting High-Quality Development of the 'AI + Audiovisual' Industry (2025-2029). This plan aims to promote the deep integration of the broadcasting and audiovisual sectors with various intelligent hardware and smart services.

During the keynote speeches, representatives from relevant government authorities and companies in the audiovisual industry shared their insights on generative AI, AI practices, and AI multilingual translation.

In the roundtable discussion session, participants engaged in an in-depth discussion on the theme "how AI is reshaping the entire process of audiovisual content creation," offering new perspectives for the evolution of the industry.

Currently, AI technology is rapidly evolving, presenting the audiovisual industry with a strategic opportunity and a critical window for transformation. The forum reached a consensus that "AI empowerment is the driving force for promoting high-quality development in the audiovisual industry" and advocated for the establishment of a collaborative innovation mechanism involving government, industry, academia, research, and application.

Looking ahead, Beijing E-Town will continue to deepen technological exchanges and industrial cooperation, jointly exploring new pathways for AI to empower the development of the audiovisual industry.
