Beijing E-Town represents national-level economic development zones at CIIE

The 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened on Nov 5, at which the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area, or Beijing E-Town, represented national-level economic development zones, attracting wide attention at the National Pavilion.

From 3.83 square kilometers over thirty years ago to the current 225 square kilometers, Beijing E-Town has firmly positioned itself in the top tier of national-level development zones and has become the only functional zone combining a national-level development zone, a national-level high-tech industrial park, the Zhongguancun independent innovation demonstration zone, a service industry expansion demonstration zone, and a free trade pilot zone.

To date, Beijing E-Town has nurtured four leading industry clusters: "Made in China Chips," "Future Vehicles," "Innovative Pharmaceuticals," and "Intelligent Manufacturing."

It has attracted over 80,000 market entities from more than 40 countries and regions worldwide, including 155 investment projects from 100 Fortune 500 companies, contributing nearly 30 percent of the city's industrial added value on just 0.35 percent of the land.

Currently, more than 1,000 technological innovations have been successfully transformed in Beijing E-Town, and it ranks first among national-level development zones in the number of national sophisticated and specialized "little giant" companies, playing a crucial role in supporting the real economy of the capital.

During the six-day event, Beijing E-Town will showcase its achievements through its "Beijing E-Town: Pioneer of High-Quality Development in the Capital" booth and "Beijing High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone" booth. It will also present the phased results of the construction of the five systems of "smart roads, intelligent vehicles, real-time cloud, reliable network, and precise maps."

Meanwhile, it will emphasize both "bringing in" and "going out" and provide cooperation platforms for local enterprises, promoting investment through exhibitions and meetings, and using a combination of marketing tactics in collaboration with the government and enterprises to provide solid support for high-quality development.

Beijing E-Town will take the opportunity of participating in the CIIE to strengthen discussions and exchanges with all parties, optimize resource allocation, deepen economic reforms, and expand openness, according to Zhang Qiang, secretary of the BDA Working Committee.

During the construction of the National Pavilion and the typical case exhibition area of national-level economic development zones at this year's CIIE, a large number of new technologies and products from enterprises in Beijing E-Town were applied, allowing friends from various countries to get to know, enter, and fall in love with the area.
