Yunnan University (YNU) signed a cooperation agreement with the Institute of Genetics and Development Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) on Sept 2. 

The signing ceremony was attended by Yang Weicai, dean of the Institute of Genetics and Development Biology, Huang Xun, vice-dean of the institute, Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of YNU, Fang Jingyun, president of YNU, Liu Bo, vice-president of YNU, and other representatives from the two organizations. 

Lin extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and said that the Institute of Genetics and Development Biology boasts a lot of talent and many scientific achievements.

The cooperation agreement is of great significance to the development of training and scientific research at YNU, Lin added. 

Yang briefed YNU representatives on the institute’s current situation. He said that both sides wish to develop further and their strengths complement each other well. 

YNU President Fang Jingyun thanked the institute for its long-term support and vowed to deliver on the agreement.
