YNU organizes symposium on dielectric materials

The biennial symposium, hosted by the Chinese Physical Society (CPS)-Committee on Dielectrics and organized by Yunnan University (YNU), opened on Aug 2 in Kunming, Yunnan province.

More than 60 experts from universities and corporations discussed the strategic significance, current research achievements, and future prospects of dielectric materials.

Liu Qingju, president of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of YNU, recounted the history of YNU and introduced the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the opening ceremony for the symposium on Aug 3. 

Professors and young scholars from universities such as Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Tsinghua University, Yunnan University and more gave lectures on a number of topics during the symposium.

At the closing ceremony for the symposium, Xu Zhuo, director of the CPS-Committee on Dielectrics and professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University, delivered some closing remarks for the symposium and thanked YNU for its support.

The symposium offered an opportunity for dielectrics experts from around the country to discuss YNU’s achievements in the field. The symposium ended on Aug 4.
