Nationality history study camp opens at Yunnan University

The first nationality history study camp opened on July 20 at Yunnan University (YNU).
The camp was hosted by the Chinese Association for Nationality History and YNU and organized by the School of History and Archives at YNU.
Twenty-four students and a number of professors attended the opening ceremony for the camp.
Li Chenyang, vice-president of YNU, delivered a speech at the ceremony recounting the history of YNU and discussing the university’s development of the nationality history discipline.
He also said that, in the future, YNU will work to further develop and improve the discipline.
The study camp lasted for two days, during which time students participated in many lectures and interactive academic salons.
Participants of the study camp also did some field research in Chuxiong Yi autonomous prefecture and Dali Bai autonomous prefecture and learned about history, culture, and ethnicity.
