The Yunnan University (YNU) Alumni Association’s branch in Qingdao, Shandong province, opened on June 15.

Some YNU alumni came from neighboring cities such as Jinan and Yantai to witness the opening.

Li Jianyu, deputy Party secretary of YNU and vice-president of the YNU Alumni Association, attended the opening ceremony.

Li delivered a speech at the ceremony and thanked alumni who helped contributed to YNU’s success.

He briefed attendees on YNU’s recent accomplishments and encouraged the new branch to not shirk on its responsibilities.

I hope the Qingdao branch of the YNU Alumni Association will help bring the YNU community together and promote the development of its Double First-Rate Program, Li added.

Pei Tianen, a YNU alumni, was elected president of the new association. In his inaugural address, Pei recounted his years as a student at YNU.

He promised that the Qingdao branch would help unite the YNU community and promote exchanges between the alumni association and YNU.

After the ceremony, Li visited the headquarters of Qingdao Changsheng Oriental Industrial Group, a company founded by YNU alumni Sui Haizhou.

The group is now one of the world’s top 500 new energy enterprises.
