Wojciech Zajaczkowski, Polish ambassador to China, delivered a lecture at Yunnan University (YNU) on May 30.

His speech was entitled “Polish-Chinese Relations and Poland’s ‘European Dream’ - - Celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Poland-China diplomatic relations”.

In his speech, the ambassador recounted the major historical events that strengthened relations between China, Poland, Europe, and the United States since Poland first established diplomatic relations with China on Oct 7, 1949.

The ambassador detailed how his country had strengthened relations with China via a platform provided by the European Union. 

He also expressed hope that YNU teachers and students would contribute to China-Poland relations and China-EU relations.

Before the speech, Li Chenyang, vice-president of YNU, met with Zajaczkowski and expressed hope that both sides would cooperate in higher education.

On the afternoon of May 30, the ambassador held a meeting with representatives from YNU’s Institute of the Belt and Road, School of Economics, Research Center for Diplomacy with Neighboring Countries, and Institute for Indian Studies. 

They discussed what Poland could do to enhance economic and trade exchanges with China’s Yunnan province and Southeast Asia.
