Delegation from South University of Science and Technology of China visits YNU

A delegation from the South University of Science and Technology of China (SUSTC) visited Yunnan University (YNU) on April 12 to negotiate potential partnerships.
The delegation consisted of Tang Tao, vice-president of SUSTC and academic of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other representatives from the university’s departments of scientific research and engineering.
YNU Vice-President Zhang Li led scholars from YNU’s School of Material Sciences and Engineering, School of Mathematics and Statistics, and the Institute for the Safety of International Rivers and Ecology, in a meeting with the visiting delegation.
During the meeting, Zhang briefed the guests on YNU’s current circumstances and historic development, and also discussed the university’s Double First-Rate Program.
Zhang said that Tang’s visit helped strengthen strategic cooperation between the two sides, and also had certain positive effects on the development of the Double First-Rate Program.
Tang said that the aim of the visit was to strengthen their partnership and promote the comprehensive development of both universities.
After discussions, both sides reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation in numerical mathematics, material genetic engineering, and environmental engineering. Specially, the two universities agreed to cooperate in joint research, the application of key national projects, and joint training.
