HK professor launches new YNU lecture program

A renowned professor from the Business School at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) delivered a lecture on international commerce at Yunnan University (YNU) as part of a serialized lecture program organized by YNU’s business school, on March 18.
Professor Li Jiatao titled his lecture “Adopting knowledge from reverse innovations? Transnational patents and signaling from an emerging economy”.
The lecture was attended by Yang Lin, Party secretary of YNU; Li Guowei, professor from HKUST’s Business School; Jiao Jie, chief accountant from Tsinghua University; Chen Yu, vice-dean of YNU’s Qidi Business School and Gao He, vice-dean of YNU’s School of Business and Tourism, as well as an audience made up of YNU teachers and students.
Before the lecture started, YNU Party secretary Yang Lin awarded professors Li Jiatao and Jiao Jie letters of appointment offering them positions as guest lecturers at YNU.
During the discussion that followed the lecture, professors Li Jiatao, Chen Yu and Gao He shared their views on the current state of the Belt and Road Initiative, proposing suggestions on how universities could best assist with the development of the initiative.
The lecture is the first one to take place out of the new lecture program initiated by Yunnan Society, YNU’s School of Business and Tourism and Qidi Business School.
Well-known experts and scholars in the fields of business, management, economics and finance will visit the university to share their opinions and expertise.
