A new research finding by a team from Yunnan University (YNU) was reported in Chemical Science, a world-renowned journal affiliated with the UK’s Royal Society of Chemistry, on Jan 22.

Titled “Transition-Metal-Free α Arylation of Oxindoles via Visible-Light Promoted Electron Transfer”, the finding was made by a team led by Xia Chengfeng, a researcher working at the Key Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry for Natural Resources of YNU, and Xia was also listed as a correspondence author of the paper.

Liang Kangjiang, a postdoctoral candidate, is the first author of the paper, and Li Na, Zhang Yang and Li Tao, all of whom are students studying on a master’s degree program, are co-authors of the paper.

The research program received financial support from the Natural Science Foundation of China and the Yunnan Department of Science and Technology.
