Yunnan University lists 10 major scientific achievements in 2018
A list of 10 major scientific achievements made by Yunnan University (YNU) for the past year was recently revealed by the university.
The achievements were presented as follows:
1. A research team from Yunnan University (YNU) published a paper on paleontology that was included in the sub-journal of Nature –– Nature Communications, on Feb 1, 2018.
Led by Professor Zhang Xiguang and researcher Yang Jie from the Yunnan Key Laboratory for Paleontology at YNU, the team published a paper titled “Early Cambrian fuxianhuiids from China reveal origin of the gnathobasic protopodite in euarthropods.”
The paper reveals substantial changes that have taken place in the gnathobasic protopodite of euarthropods based on the world’s earliest fossil records found by the team.
The research was supported by the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Yunnan provincial technological authority.
