Yunnan University (YNU) recently won three honors in a Belt and Road research program initiated by the Belt and Road Development Center for Chinese College Students.
Two teams from the School of Public Management and the Institute for Development at YNU won awards for the quality of their teams; Guo Xiufeng, a student from the Institute for Development, was recognized as an “excellent individual”, and YNU was honored as an organization for encouraging its students to engage in the competition.
The team from the School of Public Management visited Sapa city in Vietnam, where they tried to learn what local residents think of China and the Belt and Road Initiative, using such methods as questionnaires, observations and interviews.
The team from the Institute for Development went to Hekou Yao autonomous county, Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province to learn about the difficulties that small and micro businesses located in some of the main ports in regions along the Belt and Road face with investment and financing.
