YNU signs agreement with Yunnan Seismological Bureau

A ceremony was held to mark a new agreement between Yunnan University (YNU) and Yunnan Seismological Bureau in scientific research, training and the building of a teaching center for geophysics, on Nov 29.
Wang Bin, director of Yunnan Seismological Bureau; Mao Yuping, deputy director of the bureau; Ding Zhongtao, vice-president of YNU, as well as representatives from related departments of YNU, attended the ceremony
At the event, Ding Zhongtao outlined YNU’s work and highlighted the significance of its partnership in terms of developing the university, its geophysics and geology departments in particular.
Wang Bin gave a briefing on the achievements made by the two sides in the areas of training professionals and promoting scientific research.
He stressed that establishing a partnership would bring benefits to both parties and help improve the province’s ability to withstand earthquakes.
Representatives of both sides signed a cooperation deal at the ceremony and unveiled the name plaque of the teaching center for geophysics.
