YNU delegation debates urban development in Indonesia

A delegation from the School of Architecture and Planning at Yunnan University (YNU) attended the first International Conference on Sustainable Infrastructure and Urban Development, which took place in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, from Nov 12 to 15. 

Two graduate students, Xia Chunhong and He Xiong, led by Associate Professor Yang Zijiang from YNU’s School of Architecture and Planning, were invited to delivered academic reports at the conference, held by the University of Indonesia with the support of the ASEAN University Network. 

Budi Karya Sumadi, Indonesian minister of transportation; Basuki Hadmuljono, Indonesian minister of public resources, and Bambang Susantono, vice-president of the Asian Development Bank, delivered keynote speeches at the event. 

Scholars from Germany, Singapore, Vietnam and Dubai gathered at the conference to discuss issues related to sustainable infrastructure construction and urban development. 

Associate professors Li Yan and Yang Zijiang, as well as Xia Chunhong and He Xiong were awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for their papers, out of a total of 67 submissions.
