YNU professor’s education paper honored

Yunnan University (YNU) Professor Shan Xiaohong, vice-dean of the university’s School of Journalism, was honored for a recent paper, according to an announcement made at the first Jiusan Forum on Education, on Nov 12. 

The first Jiusan Forum on Education was hosted by the education and culture committee of Jiusan Society and Beijing Normal University, with support from the Central Committee of Jiusan Society. 

Shan’s paper on education in journalism and communication was recognized with first prize at the event. 

Shao Hong, vice-chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of Jiusan Society, attended the forum and delivered a speech. Nearly 300 scholars and experts from universities and affiliated organizations of Jiusan Society participated in the event. 

The forum examined 354 papers, which were themed on various education-related topics, such as teacher training, vocational education, private education, rural education and the teaching of traditional Chinese culture. 

The event also arranged six parallel forums for attendees to discuss a range of education issues.
