Government nontax revenue conference opens at YNU

The first Chinese Government Nontax Revenue Management Conference was held at Yunnan University (YNU), on Nov 10.
The conference was organized by the tax department at the Ministry of Finance, the finance department of Yunnan province and YNU to discuss the lack of theoretical research into government nontax revenue.
Chen Donghao, deputy director of the tax department at the Ministry of Finance; Zhang Yansong, director of the finance department of Yunnan province, and Lin Wenxun, president of YNU, delivered remarks at the conference which was chaired by Zhao Qihua, vice-president of YNU.
Other attendees included scholars from the Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences, the Central University of Finance and Economics, the Party School of the CPC Central Committee and Universidad Pontificia Comillas, as well as representatives from financial departments of the government.
Chen Donghao said that academics should continue their efforts to improve theoretical research into the management of government nontax revenues and help accelerate the implementation of related legislation.
Zhang Yansong extended his congratulations on the opening of the conference, saying that he hoped that the conference would develop into a high-level event for future exchanges.
Lin Wenxun extended a warm welcome to the attendees. He said that the Institute for Government Nontax Revenue at YNU had become a new platform for YNU to serve national and regional management.
During the conference, Ji Yibiao, former deputy director of the financial department of Yunnan province, was announced as the honorary dean of the Institute for Government Nontax Revenue.
In addition, scholars and officials held various rounds of discussions on theoretical and practical research of government nontax revenues, as well as related legislation.
The Institute for Government Nontax Revenue was established on Nov 8, 2017. It claims to be the first think tank researching the management of government nontax revenue.
