Two academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) were invited to deliver lectures at Donglu High-end Academic Forum, a serialized academic platform designed by Yunnan University (YNU), on Nov 3. 

Chen Yuchuan and Tang Zhongli, both of whom are experts in geological studies spoke at the forum hosted by Hao Shumei, assistant to the university’s president. Chen shared his personal experience working as a geologist for the past 60 years. He said that ambition, dedication, hard work, and resilience were essential to achieving things. 

He also mentioned his pride at serving his country and serving people. 

Tang started his lecture by defining geological studies, and continued by explaining the seven key research areas of geology. 

He also shared the life stories of some prominent figures who are associated with geology, such as China’s former premier Wen Jiabao, former US president Herbert Clark Hoover, and CAE academician Liu Guangrun.
