A delegation from Dehong Teachers College has agreed a partnership with Yunnan University (YNU), following a visit to the university, on Sept 20.

The visiting delegation was led by Kong Legan, Party secretary of Dehong Teachers College; Jiang Dian, president of the university, and Dang Ying, vice-president of the university.

Yang Lin, Party secretary of YNU; Li Jianyu, deputy Party secretary of YNU, and Liu Dejiang, vice-president of YNU, attended the meeting with the delegation.

Yang gave a warm welcome to the delegation and said that the visit to seek a partnership with YNU demonstrated their trust in the organization, after the university was approved to be listed as a member of the Double-first Program, a national program to develop world-class universities and disciplines.

He vowed that YNU would work tirelessly to provide high-quality education for all.

Kong expressed his thanks to YNU for its long-term support, and highlighted the achievements it had made in recent years.

He also expressed his hope that YNU would provide more support to Dehong Teachers College, enabling it to upgrade itself to a university, as opposed to its current junior college status.

With the new agreement, both sides will cooperate in various areas, with the agreement expected to bring significant mutual benefits.
